Questions and Answers Related to Training

I just wanted to drop a quick note and let you know that I have been receiving questions related to training. I have also been receiving some good ideas on what and how to cover topics on the site. Please continue to send your feedback by either commenting, sending an email to tom@tomharveytraining.com.

I have begun to archive the questions and will address them in the posts. My hope is that you may find something of use through this approach. Questions can be related to conditioning, performance enhancement, Jeet Kune Do, stand-up skills, footwork, distance control, timing, training ideas, self defense, philosophy, etc.

For example I received a question today related to developing a snap in your punch. Another recommendation was to give more written explanation related to footwork on the video posts. These are very good question/suggestions and hopefully useful to many. More importantly however is they are helpful to the persons that asked the questions. Those hard to answer questions that are occasionally asked afford me the opportunity to research and expand my knowledge and understanding. This is ultimately what we are all after, right?

With that I will sign-off and wish you a good evening.

  1. Sifu Tom I have two questions.

    1. What is the difference between side stepping and slipping?

In many of your clips I see a variety of footwork being used that you don’t discuss. Your footwork seems very smooth and fast, so my second question is…

    2. What are some ways to smooth out and speed up your footwork?

    Thank you in advance….
