MMA Core Conditioning Workout

In this workout we are targeting Skill Related Fitness (SRF) for the Mixed Martial Artist aka. MMA. This core workout is geared towards grappling from the back. The workout was completed at the end of the training session making it a finisher.

Most people typically complete Core workouts at the end of a training session. I advise that you also design your program so that Core gets rotated to the beginning on a regular basis. Another option is to dedicated training session to Core development.

The target for this workout was:

  • Hanging Heavy Bag Sit-ups:  2 sets 10 reps
  • Heels to Ceiling Up & Overs:  2 Sets 20 reps
  • Sand Bag Grappling & Striking: 1 set 2 minutes
  • Ball Exchanges: 1 Set 10 reps
  • Medicine Ball Sit-Ups: 1 Set 10 reps

Target time: 4-5 minutes
