I had a private session tonight with Sifu working on some Level 3 techniques. For some reason I kept getting caught up on the side step and wanted to snap back instead. I am primarily putting this video out so I can view it and work on it during my own time. For those that are working on or towards level 3 material this would be a great reference for you also. Sifu does a great job explaining 3 different variations of the side step.

After wrapping up a two hour Martial Studies group session, we had the chance to pick Sifu’s brain. Questions were flying so I decided to capture the moment and do some unplanned taping. Sometimes these parts of training are the best and we rarely capture them. I have to say this is some of the best video I have taped because it showed some of Sifu’s mischievous nature. Often these types of discussions are when Sifu reveals a little bit more and we always enjoy them. Some of the other Q & A topics that were covered included gun and knife defense. During normal training session we covered Opening the Door as Sifu calls it, head control and ground defense. I plan to put some of this material in the IC area. Hope you guys enjoy the video.

Here’s a video I took of Sifu with my camera phone during the Fargo seminar. There is a segment of Master Dyer analyzing Sifu’s rear hand punch. They also spent time tweaking. That’s the last thing we need is Sifu’s rear hand getting more power.
