World Class Jeet Kune Do Training

What is Jeet Kune Do?

Jeet Kune Do translated from Cantonese to English means “The Way of the Intercepting Fist“.

Jeet Kune Do is the scientific approach to martial arts developed by the late Bruce Lee. It is based on his significant knowledge of kinesiology (Human Kinetics) and applied physics. Jeet Kune Do was created by Lee in the 1960′s as he began to liberate himself from the limitations of classical Wing Chun Kung Fu. He began to see that the essence of martial arts was to remove the artificial limitations imposed by traditional styles. Lee introduced the top martial artists in America to a new way of thinking. Lee evolved his personal expression of the martial arts up until his untimely passing in 1973.

Ted Wong Jeet Kune Do is the practice of JKD as it was taught directly to Sifu Wong by Bruce Lee. It is pure and unmixed with other styles of martial arts. It is not just the ideas or concepts of JKD, but the actual techniques and strategies Bruce taught to his private students.

With simplicity, directness, and being non-classical– Jeet Kune Do is Bruce Lee’s ultimate expression of the human body through martial arts.

Sifu Ted Wong Speaks about Jeet Kune Do

Why I believe strongly in this art and approach…

Martial art is an athletic discipline and as such follows the same rules of motion as any other athletic endeavor. Regardless of style or method, they all follow the same bio-mechanical principles.

By applying science to the study of unarmed combat you understand the laws that govern human motion. When you understand human motion you no longer require a “style” of martial arts. It is critical to not get caught up in techniques. There are many aspects of the martial arts that must be developed outside of techniques.
